Experience a unique stay in the backcountry approximately 7 miles from Stehekin near Moore point. Our beautiful off the grid cabin is nestled in the rugged Cascade Mountains. Enjoy hiking along the Lakeshore Trail or to an Alpine lake, fishing at Fish Creek or in Lake Chelan, swimming, boating, wildlife viewing or just enjoying the majestic views from the property.
What you need to know:
This experience is not for everybody. The cabin is remote, and preparation is needed for your adventure. There are no stores close by, so all your food, spices, drinks, and other necessities will have to be brought in with you. We do not provide transportation to and from Stehekin. This vacation is for the independent adventurer.
THE CABIN
Our Cabin is Completely furnished:
Bedding, towels, utensils. Fully equipped kitchen, refrigerator, gas range, wood heat. Sleeps 6, 2 upstairs bedrooms; 1 king, 1 queen and 2 twins, 2 full bathrooms. There is no cell reception, no internet or WIFI, no T.V., no telephone. There is lots of quiet and beauty. There is private limited power, please do not plan to use a hair dryer, waffle iron or microwave.
Enjoy beautiful views of the lake, the mountains and the field beside the cabin from the comfortable seating area on the front porch. There is even an outdoor wood stove for cool evenings.
Pets: One well-trained dog is welcome. Please note it is best for safety that you keep your pup with you at all times, mostly at night. There is abundant wildlife in this area e.g. mountain lions, bobcats, bears, wolves, coyotes, rattlesnakes and skunk are a few of the local residents that could interact with your fur baby.
Children: Children are welcome but parent’s should be aware that there is a pond on the property that is easily accessible.
Check in:
Check in is flexible and will be determined by your chosen form of transportation. Your hosts for your adventure will be Michelle and Scott. Michelle and Scott are caretakers of the land and live approximately a half mile away from the cabin. They will greet you and help get you to the cabin at check in and check out. They will show you the ropes and answer any questions you may have about the cabin, trails, or area’s history. The cabin is about a mile up the hill from the dock. Your host will help you with your luggage, coolers and provide transportation to the cabin.
Rates:
Rates: $250 per night, 3 night minimum. Check in on Thursday or Friday and check out on Sunday or Monday. Pets are $10 a night.
Cancellation Policy: 10% of the total cost is nonrefundable and if you cancel within 30 days of the reservation 50% of the total cost is nonrefundable.
Cabin is clean on arrival. No maid service.

Travel to Fish Creek: There are many ways to create your adventure to Fish Creek.
Moore Mountain Cabin is located on the uplake side of Moore’s Point, 6 1/2 miles from Stehekin.
Boat
Either the Stehekin Ferry or the Lady of the Lake will deliver you directly to our dock with prior arrangement. Please make sure the boat knows you wish to be dropped off at Fish Creek when you book your ticket.
Boat in with your private boat. We have our own private dock and can arrange for a place for you to dock your boat.
Fly
Arrive in style with Lake Chelan Helicopter. Take a 30 minute helicopter ride from Chelan, enjoy a beautiful scenic tour from the air and land right in the field next to the cabin.
Hike
The cabin is easily accessible from the Lakeshore Trail and we can meet you at the trail junction if you plan to hike in from Stehekin, Moore Point or Prince Creek.
Ride
Ride in from the Methow, the Summit Trail or up valley. Moore Mountain Cabin is equipped for horses with a corral on the property, visible from the cabin. We can help you arrange hay delivery.
Visiting Stehekin: You can make reservations with the Lady of the Lake for the Cat to pick you up at our dock and drop you off in Stehekin. You will have 6 hours to shop, visit The Stehekin Pastry Company, The Garden and check out the local attractions.
